Not to be be overshadowed by Brenner, Miami's Anonka Dixon who was the eventual Co-Game MVP with Lusby, orchestrated a great drive herself capped with a touchdown pass to take a 16-8 lead after the 2pt conversion.
For the remainder of the half, the West's defense struggled to contain the running of Lusby and the scrambling of Dixon without their star middle linebacker, Gaxiola who went down early in the 1st half with a twisted knee.
Without Gaxiola, Dallas' Candis Mosley stopped the West's defensive bleeding by securing a touchdown-saving red-zone interception to keep the game to 16-8 at the half.
The 2nd half started with a World Cup-like atmosphere as a Mexican streaker ran across the field forcing stoppage of play. When play resumed, Dixon not being phased by the streaker guided the East down the field with help from a consistent running game highlighted by Tampa's Tiffani Powers which led to a Dixon score on a scramble run for a touchdown at the 10:51 mark to extend the East's lead to 22-8 after yet another 2pt conversion. As the game came down to the final minutes, the West desperately needed a touchdown drive. Once again they turned to their leader Brenner who stepped back under center and drove the West down for a score with only 1:14 remaining in the game to cut the lead to 22-14 with a onside kicking looming.

Because the West's kicker Gaxiola went down earlier in the game with a twisted knee, Seattle coach Chris Michaelson inserted one of his all-around players, Katie Ryckman. Ryckman's kick had a great hop that was initially fumbled by an Eastern player but eventually landed in the hands of perhaps the league's most exciting player, Lusby, who returned her 2nd kickoff of the game for a score running up the final score to 30-14.
With the game out of hand with less than a minute remaining, the West tried desperately to get the ball down the field only to result in a Brenner interception directly in the hands of Anonka Dixon who returned the interception to the house to finish out the game with a 36-14 score.
The game ended with a shower of confetti which culiminated an incredible night that introduced LFL football to an entire country. Following the game, the East players celebrated on the field with the thousands of fans hosting a meet and greet. "Truly a dream come true, never did I think we would be hosting an all-star on international soil in our first season of play. This week was really surreal for our players, coaches and league staff. We are starting to see the potential of the LFL both in the States and abroad", said, Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Lingerie Football League, LLC.
Mortaza further stated that the international fans can expect more LFL exhibition games specifically in Japan, Australia, South Korea, China, Brazil, Toronto, London and a return to Mexico. |
